Not to worry, blog readers! We're still here!
Well, kind of.
See, life has been a bit of an explosion recently. The reason for that is... well, we're planning on taking a mini-vacation.
This is somewhat significant, since we have not taken a vacation in, oh, seven years or so.
Planning to take a few days off is really difficult for us. I've also got relatives coming in from out of town soon, so we're in a mad scramble to get a lot done in a very short amount of time. I'm also finishing up the March newsletter for The Scriptwriters Network.
But, more importantly: The fourth draft of the screenplay is complete!
*throws confetti*
For the fifth draft, Jeffrey and I will go over the entire thing together. Yes, we will be sitting right next to each other. We'll argue and snipe and make fun of each other for dialogue choices and scene descriptions. And at the end of it, we won't hate each other. Much.
I am fairly sure Jeffrey and I will have at least two days to do this next week. That is very very good.
I've mentioned before that we seem to balance each other well. Jeffrey's the eternal optimist; I'm the pessimist. Predictably, he's very excited about this script, and I am terrified. It works out.
So. In this case, silence is good.
Don't feel bad about hunkering down and getting stuff done. If you're a screenwriter, this is your future you're talking about here! Your friends and colleagues can wait while you're writing and rewriting and polishing and fretting. Grant yourself a coffee date after that draft is done instead of before.
Make your writing a priority, and you'll be surprised at just how much you can accomplish.
